HHS JROTC Student Wins State Enhanced Cadet Contest

Recently, Cadet Alexa Martinez from the Blue Streak Battalion of Harrisonburg High Scholl was recently honored for winning the statewide Enhanced Cadet contest sponsored by the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Ms. Martinez completed against thirty other SAR chapters and her essay “How JROTC has prepared me to me a Better Citizen” earned her a check in the amount of $1,000 and the opportunity to compete at the national level. Presenting her with the cash award and medal is The Fort Harrison Chapter President CAPT Ros Poplar USN (ret).
