Flag Day Retirement and Dedication Ceremony

The fourth annual Flag Day Ceremony was held June 14 at the Elkton Downtown Marketplace. Participating in multi-chapter event were SAR chapters General Daniel Morgan, Fort Harrison, Colonel James Wood II, as well as DAR Chapters Massanutton, Narrow Passage, and Shenandoah River. Guest speaker was Bridgewater Police Chief Phillip Read who spoke about what means to be a veteran and public servant on Flag Day. Vocalist Pete John sang the National Anthem and God Bless America. Cub Scouts from Packs 1, 41, 120 and Boy Scouts from Troop 124 retired over 200 flags.
