Compatriots Randy Atkins and Ros Poplar attended the 250th Bee Line March in Winchester, VA. The Virginia Presidential Initiative event commemorated the march of Daniel Morgan's troops to Cambridge, covering 600 miles in just twenty-four days. Also attending was President General Mike Elston, Virginia Society President Mike Weyler, and Virginia Society Secretary Tim Dioquino.

On July Fourth the Fort Harrison Chapter sponsored the 30th Annual reading of the Declaration of Independence. The event was held on the Rockingham County Courthouse steps and was presided over by President Ros Poplar and read by Compatriot Paul Hatmaker. The Beavercreek Long Knives supplied the colors and fired a musket volley.
On July 6 Compatriot Jimmy Kilbourne gave a presentation of historical flags to the Bridgewater Ruritan Club. He was assisted by Compatriot Wes Dove. The presentation included 21 flags, dating from the early colonial days to the present United Sates flag.
Randy Atkins presented our chapter wreath at the grave marking of Henry Gunnell, one of the Fairfax Resolves Signers on July 19, the 251 anniversary of the Fairfax Resolves in Vienna, VA. The event, which was a SAR National Event, was attended by newly elected President General Michael Elston and Historian General Jeff Thomas.
State officer Randy Atkins participated in the national Bastille Day celebration held at the Chrysler Museum July 14 in Norfolk, VA and represented the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution by presenting the Virginia State Society Medal to six active-duty French military officers.
